Bio:

Noah Reyes lives and works in Atlanta, GA. Reyes is an artist taking steps in many different directions, resulting in an awkward dance between curating, writing, and artmaking. They work for Sandler Hudson Gallery, serve as a board member for Lostintheletters, and co-founded Eso Tilin Projects. Sometimes they write for ArtsATL, ART PAPERS, Burnaway, and IMPACT Magazine.

Artist Statement:

Through a balance of minimalism and rasquachismo, Noah Reyes creates across media to produce paintings and site responsive installation-based works. Having grown up on construction jobsites, Reyes revisits such sites as a source of inspiration through which to form their own visual language.

Their work explores a reckoning of cultural and intergenerational exchanges that reflect the complicated nature of Mexican-American immigrant life, assimilation, hybridization and growth. Their installations utilize 2x4 structures that reframe and carve space to transform an audience's experience, and blends elements of architecture, curation, personal narrative, and family mythologies.
